Sakura - quick and easy crochet scarf pattern

Here is an easy unisex crochet scarf pattern for beginners. It's a one row repeat pattern using only basic crochet stitches like chains, single and double crochet. 
Materials:
Light worsted weight/category 3 yarn approximately 625 meters/685 yards
G/4 mm crochet hook
Measuring tape
Yarn needle

Size:
After blocking approximately 14 inches wide and 75 inches long

Stitches/Abbreviations Used:

The shawl has a wingspan of about 72 inches and height at the middle is about 30 inches. Both width and height can be increased or decreased according to your desire.

Miranda - free crochet hat pattern for child and adult sizes

This is a very old pattern of mine which was published way back in 2013 in my Ravelry and Etsy shops. I now made a video tutorial of this pattern  It's very easy and quick to make. This pattern is written for 2 sizes - child and adult. 

Skill Level:

Easy

Materials Required:

Medium worsted weight/category 4 yarn approximately 90 meters (100 yards) for the child size and 120 meters (132 yards) for the adult size

I/5.5 mm crochet hook

H/5 mm crochet hook

Yarn needle

Measuring tape

Gauge:

Using 5 mm crochet hook

14 sc = approximately 4 inches  

Size (with stretch):

Child: The hat would fit an average head circumference of about 18 to 20 inches. The length of the hat is about 8 inches from top to bottom.

Adult: The hat would fit an average adult head circumference of about 20 to 23 inches. The length of the hat is about 9 inches from top to bottom.

Stitches/abbreviations used:

** - work instructions within asterisks as many times as directed

[ ] - work instructions within parenthesis as a set as many times as directed

ch - chain

st/sts - stitch/stitches

sl st - slip stitch

sc - single crochet

sc2tog - single crochet worked together in 2 consecutive stitches (sc decrease)

Instruction

(Instruction for both the sizes is the same except for the 1st round)

Using I/5.5 mm crochet hook ch 4 and join the last ch with a sl st to the 1st ch to form a ring. Instead, you can also make a magic ring.

Round 1:

Child: Ch 1, 10 sc into ring. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc. (10 sc)

Adult: Ch 1, 12 sc into ring. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc. (12 sc)

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, repeat [ch 3, sc in next st] around finishing with sl st in the 1st st at the beginning. You will have 10 ch-3 spaces for the child size and 12 ch-3 spaces for the adult size.

Round 3: Sl st in the next ch-3 space, ch 1, sc in same space, repeat [ch 5, sc in next ch-3 space] around finishing with sl st in the 1st sc at the beginning.

Round 4: Sl st in the next 2 ch to reach the center of the next ch-5 space, ch 1, sc in same space, repeat [ch 5, sc in next ch-5 space] around finishing with sl st in the 1st sc at the beginning.

Round 5: Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), dc in same st, **[dc, ch 1, dc] in next ch-5 space, [dc, ch 1, dc] in next sc** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch at the beginning.

Shell - [2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in same space/st

Round 6: Sl st in next ch-1 space, ch 3, [dc, ch 1, 2 dc] all in the same space, ch 2, sc in next ch-1 space, ch 2, **shell in next ch-1 space, ch 2, sc in next ch-1 space, ch 2** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch.

Round 7: Sl st in next dc and in ch-1 space, ch 1, sc in same space, ch 3, cluster in the next sc, ch 3, **sc in the ch-1 space of next shell, ch 3, cluster in next sc, ch 3** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to the sc at the beginning.

Round 8: Ch 3, [dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in the same st, ch 2, sc in next cluster, ch 2, **shell in next sc, ch 2, sc in next cluster, ch 2** Repeat from ** to ** around. Join with a sl st to the 3rd ch.

Repeat rounds 7 and 8 until the height of the hat measures about 7 to 7.5 inches for the child size and 8 to 8.5 inches for the adult size finishing with repeat of round 7. Work more rounds if you want your hat to have more slouch.

Band

Note: Do not consider ch 1 at the beginning of a round as a stitch.

Child

Round 1: Using H/5 mm crochet hook ch 1, [sc in sc, 2 sc in ch-3 space, sc in next cluster, 2 sc in next ch-3 space] around. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc at the beginning of round. (60 sc)

Round 2 to 5: Ch 1, sc in each sc around. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc. (60 sc). Cut off yarn and weave in the loose ends.

Adult

Round 1: Using H/5 mm crochet hook ch 1, [sc in sc, 2 sc in ch-3 space, sc in next cluster, 2 sc in next ch-3 space] around. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc at the beginning of round. (72 sc)

Round 2: Ch 1, [sc in 10 sc, sc2tog] around. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc. (66 sts)

Round 3 to 5: Ch 1, sc in each sc around. Join with a sl st to the 1st st. (66 sts). Cut off yarn and weave in the loose ends.

Row 5: Ch 4 (counts as tr), [4 dc, ch 5, 4 dc] in ch-5 space, **ch 3, dc in next dc, ch 3, [4 dc, ch 5, 4 dc] in next ch-5 space** Repeat from ** to ** across, tr in last st. Turn.

Repeat row 5 five more times. Cut off yarn.

Join yarn in the 1st st on the other side and repeat.

Easy crochet phone bag - free pattern

Materials:

Superfine/4 ply/category 1 yarn in 3 colours

3.5 mm crochet hook

Button

Yarn needle


Size:

The finished bag measures about 13.5 cm wide and 18.5 cm high excluding the strap


Abbreviations/stitches used:

** - Repeat instructions within asterisks as many times as directed

ch - chain

st/sts - stitch/stitches

sl st - slip stitch

sc - single crochet

dc - double crochet

Instruction

Using colour A (pink), ch 25

Round 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in rest of the chs except the last, 3 sc in last ch, sc in next 22 ch on the other side, 2 sc in the next ch. Join with a sl st to 1st sc (50 sts)

Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next 22 sts, 2 dc in next 3 sts, dc in next 22 sts, 2 dc in next 2 sts. Join with a sl st to the starting 3 ch. (56 sts)

Round 3: Join colour B (yellow), ch 1, sc in each st around. Join. 

Round 4: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join.

Round 5: Join colour C (white), ch 1, sc in 4 sts, [ch 3, sl st in previous sc – forms picot], **sc in next 7 sts, picot** Repeat from ** to ** around, sc in last 3 sts. Join.

Round 6: Pull colour A through the loop, ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), dc in next 2 sts, ch 2, skip next 2 sts, **dc in next 5 sts, ch 2, skip 2 sts** Repeat from ** to ** around, dc in last 2 sts. Join with a sl st to the top of the 3rd ch.

Round 7: Ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in ch-2 space, **dc in 5 dc, 2 dc in ch-2 space** Repeat from ** to ** around, dc in last 2 dc. Join with a sl st to the 1st st.

Repeat rounds 3 to 7 four more times. Fasten off. 

To make the strap using 2 strands of yarn together (I used pink and yellow) make chs approximately 45 inches long. Cut off yarn.

Sew a button to the top of the bag at the center. Join yarn at the back of the bag right behind the button and make chs long enough to go around the button, sl st in the same st where you joined yarn and fasten off. Weave in all the loose ends.
